He is a seasoned legal and humanitarian professional with over sixteen years of experience spanning legal practice, refugee law, international protection, human rights, governance, and durable solutions programming across East Africa.
Throughout his career, Edwin has worked at both national and international levels, serving in senior legal, protection, and advisory capacities in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Burundi. His expertise encompasses litigation, legal advisory services, policy development, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, protection frameworks, and complex case management. He has advised and collaborated with governments, international organizations, development partners, and civil society actors on matters relating to refugee protection, human rights, documentation, durable solutions, and legal reform.
Edwin brings extensive experience in drafting legal instruments, policies, operational frameworks, and standard operating procedures, as well as leading multidisciplinary teams in complex and high-pressure environments. He has successfully managed large-scale programmes, supervised diverse professional teams, coordinated with government agencies and international partners, and contributed to strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening access to justice, protection, and long-term solutions for vulnerable populations.
